The Breaking Down Barriers Project works in partnership with over 70 organisations to join together to share examples of good practice and develop ways to ensure services and support offered are equitable for our diverse community.
BDB collaborates with organisations from small volunteer-led charities through to larger national charities like Cystic Fibrosis Trust and overarching organisations like Genomics England and NIHR: Bioscience. As well as community-based and culturally specific charities, faith groups, health providers, and research teams.
This enables us to reach deeply into communities who are often overlooked or mistrustful of mainstream systems.
“The impact of this project and the support, training and encouragement from BDB, has been significant for the organisation as a whole”
We strive to unite communities, champion collaboration, and put lived experience at the heart of everything we do. Together, we deliver inclusive, accessible, and equitable services for the most diverse and underserved communities.
Working in collaboration brings together experiences and knowledge from across the sector to address difficulties and inequalities experienced by families in accessing mainstream services.
It is free to join the network, please get in touch with Catherine Lewis to find out more Catherine.lewis@alstrom.org.uk
Our aim is to ensure all families can access all services, no matter who they are or where they are from.
