This is the second report from the REAL Centre’s programme of research with the University of Liverpool. Looking at the projections of health inequalities into 2040. This report looks at the patterns of inequalities in diagnosed illness by socioeconomic deprivation across England and assesses how they will impact the future.
The report highlights, stark inequalities that are projected to persist up to 2040, which will inevitably impact people’s quality of life, their ability to work and the overall wider economy. The report also highlights that long-term conditions, such as chronic pain, type 2 diabetes, anxiety and depression are expected to increase at a faster rate in the most deprived areas.
The Health Foundation website gives a clear picture of the scale of the inequalities with tracked graphs up until 2040. You can view these, further information and download the full report on the Health Foundation website HERE
